Logan

I had the pleasure of having baby Logan help me build my portfolio when I was just starting out, so of course he holds a special place in my heart!

I was so excited to be able to do a cake smash with him to celebrate turning one, and he certainly loved his cake!!

Look closely at the book title...so cute!
Even superheroes get sleepy eyes once in a while!

And of course my all-time favorite part of a first birthday session....the cake smash!!!

Oh, the aftermath...so colorful!

Handsome Baby A

I had the pleasure of doing maternity pics for this little guys mama back in December so it was a great pleasure for me to finally be able to meet him.

He was super sweet and even though it took some cuddles and feedings to get the peaceful sleeping baby poses we desired, it was well worth the wait to get such sweet photos.

I must say there really is something about the details of a sleeping newborn baby. Have you ever just stared at yours? I know I did with both my boys....

Those tiny fingers, toes, and ears? Mesmerizing.

I am so glad this little guy's family trusted me to capture their family memories once again.

Congrats again, P family!

Turning 4!

What better place than to gather a bunch of preschoolers and let them go crazy than at The Little Gym??

The perfect place for a birthday party!

I had the pleasure of shooting the adorable Gabrielle at Christmas (you may remember her and her fun parents with their santa beards and mustache props), and now I had the pleasure of being there to capture memories of her 4th Birthday party.

Happy Birthday, Gabrielle!!

Why use my version of a black and white photo?

I LOVE black and white photos.

There is just something so simple and beautiful about them to me. SO I used to be guilty of taking lots of pictures and just making them black and white before I got them printed at whatever 1 hour service I was using.

I now know that there is a huge difference between "converting to black and white" and what is possible in the realm of creating beautiful black and white images in Photoshop.

I've often wondered if my clients think to themselves:
"why is she giving me black and white photos when I can just make them black and white at Walgreens if I want to?" (Nothing against Walgreens!!!)

Well here is a great example of a sweet little newborn I shot recently.

The first image is straight out of the camera (SOOC).....

the second I simply did what anyone would do if ordering their prints online and clicked the "convert to b&w" option....

In the final image I adjusted brightness, contrast, blacks, and even noise reduction, creating the final piece you see, and the piece that will be given to the client.

I hope that helps anyone in their decision to print the B&W's I send them!

Gisella turns one!

This sweet little thing just turned one!

Of course she was outfitted by Ava J's and had an amazing dress and headband as her main outfit but she also had some other great items from Ava Js as well. In fact, everything she is wearing is from Ava's.....

 Seriously. I need a girl.
 G. was such a cooperative baby, which helped to make for some great shots since I wasn't chasing her around too much!

I had an amazing shoot with her, isn't she just the cutest?
